A three year online course by part-time study
Course Concept
This is a unique course, combining training in both psychology and counselling, making it an ideal choice for those seeking training in either field, or both. The course draws on a comprehensive Christian model of personhood and equips students with a working knowledge of pure and applied psychology, as well as the key skills required for effective practice as a professional counsellor.
Course Relevance
There has never been a time when it was more necessary to have effective training in these fields. This course is more than simply an education in psychology and counselling. A sound knowledge of psychology combined with a grasp of pscyhotherapeutic tools can empower any individual towards greater success in any endeavour.
Course Structure
This innovative course uses a variety of learning methods to achieve its goals. In addition to traditional lectures on all aspects of our subject, students attend regular tutorials, read key texts, gain practical hands-on experience, receive guidance in personal and professional development, and are assessed by a combination of learner-friendly multiple choice tests and essays.
Course Content
Each year of the course consists of three terms of ten weeks each. Course Modules will include Psychology, The Counselling Process, Communication Skills, Clinical Psychology, Ethics & Practice, Comparative Psychotherapy, Supervised Practice, and Personal & Professional Development.
Course Qualification
This is a Level 5 Counsellor Training Course. It is suitable for those with no prior training in either psychology or counselling, as well as those who wish to become proficient in a Christian and Biblical model. On successful completion, students will be awarded the Diploma in Psychology & Counselling, and be eligible to join our Practice Register, becoming part of our global referral network.
Course Fees
Tuition fees are currently £2,500 per year, payable in advance or by monthly standing order. All students are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500 before starting the course. Students are responsible for their own costs in arranging personal counselling, supervision, and counselling practice sessions.
Course Attendance
To receive the Diploma, students are required to pass all modules and complete all three years of the course..
